Appalachian Trail Conservancy (ATC)
The Appalachian Trail Conservancy( ATC) is the primary source for information regarding the Appalachian Trail. The ATC provides books, maps, and logistical information about the trail. But most importantly, they serve as the stewards of the AT, organizing countless volunteers who maintain this awesome footpath. Great organization!

Appalachian Trail Hiking Tips Cincinnati Enquirer interview
This is an article with tips on preparing for a thru-hike of the Appalachian Trail.

Appalachian Trail Services web site
A site with journals and links to services along the trail.

Association of Long Distance Hikers (aldha)
This is the club to join after the trail. They host an annual "Gathering" each fall with plenty of inspirational adventure presentations to keep the wanderlust alive.

Bob Shaver's Outdoor Related Blog
An interesting site with a variety of outdoor topics including some uniques outdoor related inventions.

Books Leaving Footprints
Check out Joan Young's award-winning book "North Country Cache: Adventures on a National Scenic Trail" from New York to North Dakota.

Boom This
This is a great site for baby boomers to bookmark. They featured Jeff's 8 tips to acclimate back to the real world after your grand adventure.

This organization is dedicated to helping families of children with brain injuries such as cerebral palsy.
